The Association

Creation and genesis

The association "Les Amis de Pauline Jaricot" is a Catholic association born in the diocese of Lyon, in April 2010, from the will of a group of friends of the house of Lorette, under the chairmanship of Monsignor Thierry Brac of the Perrière auxiliary bishop of Lyon.

In May 2005, the Pontifical Mission Societies restored the house in Loreto, in which Pauline Jaricot lived for many years and died there in 1862; this house will become a place of memory, of prayer, of mission.

In 2007, a few volunteers, faithful to the Maison de Lorette, got together with the desire to form a small think tank to make Pauline Jaricot known. This beautiful Lyon figure is still unknown today in France and Lyon. At the beginning of the 19th century, at the end of the French Revolution, she worked for a renewal of evangelization through her innovative actions in favor of missions in the world, for greater social justice in the service of workers, with the development of universal and fraternal prayer.

Pauline Jaricot was declared Venerable by Pope John XXIII in 1962.

“This Tuesday, May 26, 2020, Pope Francis authorized the publication of the decree of the miracle attributed to the intercession of Venerable Pauline Jaricot, which decree was published today. "

While awaiting the effective beatification of Pauline, we can truly be in thanksgiving and thank all those who have worked for this cause.
Pauline-Marie Jaricot, "Mother of Missions " is a layman, a prophetic figure for the world of today and the challenges of the new Evangelization.
